Benefits & How To Use

Roman Camomile Anthemis nobilis (1710) (also known as Roman Chamomile)

Roman Camomile is gentle oil that is great for sensitive souls and children: soothing, calming and restful. It soothes the muscles, supports digestion, raises the spirits and helps prepare for a restful night. The aroma is sweet, fresh, fruity and herbaceous, like liquid sunshine with a hint of autumn apples.

Roman Camomile blends well with Geranium, Pink Grapefruit, Highland Lavender Organic or Lemon Organic. It also combines beautifully with Helichrysum Organic in situations where you want to soothe troubled skin, muscles and joints.

This is a pure therapeutic-quality aromatherapy essential oil from Italy, and is distilled from the blossoms of the plant.

About the Camomile Roman plant: Everyone probably knows what Roman Camomile looks like. You’ve probably seen pictures of it on the outside of boxes of camomile tea. It has a history of use dating back at least to the Roman empire, and would have been a staple in any medieval physic garden.

Help me choose: The aroma is lighter and cooler than German Camomile essential oil, more ‘opening’ and perhaps more ‘awakening’. Roman Camomile Organic is also available. This oil subjectively seems to have a broader spectrum, more spread out and less intense. It is not as sharp as the non-organic version, but comes across as ‘more profound’. The aroma is of course similar, but it develops in a softer, deeper, more rounded manner. See also Roman Camomile Dilution (3% in Jojoba) which can be used as a facial oil.

I find Oshadhi oils to be simply exquisite. Their fragrances are so rich and full bodied. It is easy to immediately discern the difference their insistence on extraction by slow distillation makes. The larger molecules make the oils like beautifully aged, smooth fine wines! Last week I ordered 1ml o ...
