Benefits & How To Use
Lavenders – A Set of Three Oils (SP2021 – item)
An opportunity to try three exquisite Lavender oils at a special price. Find out what they have in common and what makes them different. This set includes spike lavender, true lavender and lavandin. Lavandin is a cross between the other two. The ‘marriage’ of two oils – one profoundly relaxing and the other energetic and stimulating – gives us lavandin which has many of the benefits of both.
- Highland Lavender 5ml: Our French high altitude lavender from Provence – perfect to create a relaxing and calm environment.
- Spike Lavender organic 5ml: Vigorous and stimulating – use for clear breathing and to relieve everyday aches and pains.
- Lavandin Sweet Super 5ml: A hybrid between true lavender and spike lavender – a true all-rounder with a sweet, gentle aroma.
In general, lavender oils have a myriad of uses and this set contains three variations that encompass everything you could need. Our deep, rich Highland Lavender which is best used for psychological and spiritual purposes. Spike Lavender with its airy vitality and energising personality. And gentle Lavandin – useful in so many ways and especially for children. Note: If you’re interested in how the chemistry affects the aroma and properties of each oil you can download the gas chromatography analysis from the product page.
“The farmers in Provence say that when wild lavender ‘falls in love’ with the ‘male’ spike lavender – a more camphorous, less floral expression of the lavender genus – the result is lavandin, a hybrid which excels in larger blossoms (and therefore higher yield) but which lacks the subtlety of the aroma of the ‘mother’, the true Lavender.” – Dr Malte Hozzel, founder of Oshadhi

FAQs
What comes in this set of Lavender oils?
It includes three 5ml oils: Highland Lavender, Spike Lavender and Lavandin Sweet Super. Together they offer three different expressions of the lavender family, from calm and rich to bright and more stimulating.
How do the three oils differ from one another?
Highland Lavender is described as deep and rich, suited to creating a relaxed and calm atmosphere and for psychological and spiritual use. Spike Lavender is more vigorous and stimulating, with a clearer, airier character that is useful for breathing and everyday aches and pains. Lavandin Sweet Super is the gentler all-rounder, with a sweet aroma and a reputation for being especially useful with children.
What exactly is lavandin?
Lavandin is a hybrid between true lavender and spike lavender. It brings together qualities from both parents, combining the more relaxing side of lavender with the more energetic side of spike lavender. Its aroma is sweet and gentle rather than as subtle as true lavender.
Where does the Highland Lavender come from?
The Highland Lavender is French high-altitude lavender from Provence. It is presented as the more contemplative oil in the set, with a deep, rich character. That makes it the one most closely associated with creating a calm environment.

I find Oshadhi oils to be simply exquisite. Their fragrances are so rich and full bodied. It is easy to immediately discern the difference their insistence on extraction by slow distillation makes. The larger molecules make the oils like beautifully aged, smooth fine wines! Last week I ordered 1ml o ...
