Lavandin Sumian Organic Essential Oil

Lavandula hybrida
£4.99

Benefits & How To Use

Lavandin Sumian Organic Lavandula hybrida (1874 – 5ml)

Lavandin is a hybrid cross of true lavender and spike lavender. The aroma is similar to Lavender but less floral and more herbaceous. Cultivated by cuttings, much more lavandin is in production than true lavender because it is easier to grow and produces a high yield of essential oil.

It is a useful oil which has many of the properties of true lavender at a fraction of the price. For psychological and spiritual uses True Lavender would always be the first choice but for a diffuser blend or minor first aid situation (cuts, scrapes and bites etc) Lavandin is ideal.

Sumian Lavender has a slightly fresher scent than some of the other Lavandin oils. Refreshing and uplifting; ideal for a use in a home diffuser.

This is a pure therapeutic-quality certified organic aromatherapy essential oil from France, and is obtained from the Blossom/Plant.

FAQs

What is Lavandin Sumian Organic Essential Oil, botanically speaking?
Lavandin Sumian Organic Essential Oil comes from Lavandula hybrida, in the Lamiaceae family. It is a hybrid cross of true lavender and spike lavender, and the oil is taken from the blossom/plant. It has a green fragrance profile with a fresher, more herbaceous character than true lavender.
How would you describe its scent and usual uses?
The aroma is similar to lavender, but less floral and more herbaceous, with a slightly fresher feel than some other lavandin oils. It is often used in a home diffuser for a refreshing, uplifting atmosphere. It is also described as useful for minor first aid situations such as cuts, scrapes and bites.
Where does it come from and how is it grown?
This oil comes from France and is certified organic. It is cultivated by cuttings, which helps explain why lavandin is produced in greater quantity than true lavender. The oil is obtained from the blossom/plant.
Are there any safety concerns with this oil?
It is described as non toxic, non irritant and non sensitising. That makes it a straightforward oil to work with for general aromatherapy use. As with any essential oil, it is still wise to use it sensibly and keep it out of reach of children.
How long does it keep once opened?
Unopened, it has a shelf life of 36 months. Once opened, it is best used within 12 months. Keeping the bottle tightly closed and stored well will help preserve the oil.

I find Oshadhi oils to be simply exquisite. Their fragrances are so rich and full bodied. It is easy to immediately discern the difference their insistence on extraction by slow distillation makes. The larger molecules make the oils like beautifully aged, smooth fine wines! Last week I ordered 1ml o ...
