There are several different types of Frankincense oil; Frankincense carterii is the most widely used therapeutically, Frankincense serrata is a little less costly and is used traditionally in India, and Frankincense sacra (holy frankincense) is said to be the finest of all frankincense oils. Here are some scent profiles of the different types of Frankincense:

Frankincense carterii:
